Baburam Snake-man ( Baburam Shapure)

A translation of  "Baburam shapure" by Sukumar Ray.

Original:
Baburam shapure
An English lit translation:
Baburam Snake-Man
Baburam shapure,
Kotha jash bapure,
Aay baba dekhe ja,
Duto shaap rekhe ja.

Je shaap er chokhh nei,
Shing nei, nokh nei,
Chhote nato haate na,
Kau ke to kate na.

Kore na to fosh fash,
Mare na to dhush dhash,
Nei kono utpat,
Khay sudhu dudh-bhat.

Sei shaap jyanto,
Gota dui anto,
Tere mere danda,
Kore di thhanda.

Baburam Snake-Man,
Where're you off, man?
Come chappie, do spare
Not many, just a pair.

Two which are eyeless,
Clawless, toothless,
Which don't slink or crawl,
Which don't bite at all!

Won't go hiss hiss,
Won't go gliss gliss;
No trouble, just nice,
Eats just milk-rice.

Live snakes like these:
Get a couple, please.
Whackety whackety whacks,
I'll break their bloody backs!
