We shall see ( Hum Dekhenge )

A translation of  "Hum Dekhenge" by Faiz Ahmed Faiz.

Original (transliteration):
Hum Dekhenge
An English lit translation:
We shall see
Hum dekhenge, laazim hai ke hum bhi dekhenge, hum dekhenge
Woh din ke jiska waada hai, jo lauh-e-azal pe likha hai,
   Hum dekhenge

We shall see, for surely, we too shall see; we shall see.
That day which is foretold, etched in the stones of old,
   We shall see.

Jab zulm-o-sitam ke koh-e-giraan, rui ki tarah ud jaayenge
Hum mahkoomon ke paaon tale, yeh dharti dhad dhad dhadkegi
Aur ahl-e-hakam ke sar upar, jab bijli kad kad kadkegi,
   Hum dekhenge,

When the mountains of tyranny, like cotton be blown away,
When under the feet of the oppressed, the earth shall quake, shudder and shake,
And over the heads of the rulers, the sky shall rumble, crackle and crumble,
   We shall see.

Jab arz-e-Khuda ke kaabe se, sab but uthwaaye jaayenge
Hum ahl-e-safa mardood-e-haram, masnad pe bithaaye jaayenge
Sab taaj uchhaale jaayenge, sab takht giraaye jaayenge,
   Hum dekhenge,

When from God's altar, the false idols shall be dethroned,
We, the pure of heart, outcast of the sacred, shall be enthroned.
All crowns shall be thrown, all thrones overthrown,
    We shall see,

Bus naam rahega allah kaa, jo gaayab bhi hai haazir bhi
Jo manzar bhi hai naazir bhi, uthegaa ana-l-haq ka naaraa
Jo main bhi hoon aur tum bhi ho, aur raaj karegi Khalq-e-Khudaa,
Jo main bhi hoon aur tum bhi ho.
Hum dekhenge, laazim hai ke hum bhi dekhenge,
   Hum dekhenge.

And there shall be just the name of God, who's absent and present too,
Which is the observed and the observer too; there shall rise a cry for the Truth,
Which is me too and you too, and the rulers will be God's people,
Which is me too and you too.
We shall see, for surely, we too shall see
   We shall see.
